Um, why hasn’t the 11-year-old girl’s biological mother stepped forward? Dear lord. I really hope that they don’t grant the rat-bastard who beat her into a coma the right to have a say in whether her life-support gets discontinued. You bet he wants to avoid a murder-charge. Despicable git. I hope he rots in prison.

  2. Rachel

The Yahoo version of the story on the 11-year-old girl has info from her biological mom having great regrets about putting the girl up for adoption. I’ll need to search again for it.

  3. Donna

Paging Dr. Frist! Paging Dr. Frist! What a travesty. I hope that scumbag gets a harsher sentence just for trying a move like that.

  4. Antigone

What’s wrong with the vibrator? I could see how that’s useful with long distance relationships.

  5. SneakySnu

I needed a good laugh. Thanks for the Will Farrell link!

Hi! Stumbled on your blog today, and enjoyed it! Thanks.

i like the shopping link. though i’m well known around the homestead for my pathetically uncool condition ["mom"], i apparently also suffer a genetic problem requiring me to shop in december, and decorate. when i get going on that in a week or two, at least now i can have confidence about where i should go to find things. many of the top 10 are nearby, so woo hoo!

There was a story on NPR today about the girl in the coma. She was taken from the biological mother due to sexual abuse from the mother’s boyfriend. Here’s a link:

And, on the McDonald’s story. Are there really people that stupid out there that would perform strip searchs on someone else based on someone on the phone telling them that they are a police officer? Legally, wouldn’t you think that they would realize that for someone to be permitted to perform such an act they would need proper credentials?

  9. TeenageCatgirl

Mark Early, exactly my thoughts on the subject. I wonder also why someone would allow their boss to strip search them, because if my boss tried to strip search me I’d have an episode of smacksomnia.

Yes but remember that neither McDonald’s managers nor employees are exactly Richie McRich here, and a lot of people live in sufficient fear of the police that they’ll do whatever a policeman tells them even if they have misgivings.

  11. Ms Kate

I saw that McDonald’s thing. The girl was too young to know better. I think that bitch boss of her’s ought to be smacked silly. How can anyone be so stupid? To top it off, she had her boyfriend watch the girl? Somebody disconnect her life support – she’s too stupid to remember how to breathe!

That said, it made me remember the time my dad, brother, and I were out of town and some pervert called to harass my mom. He told her he was watching her and told her to go to the bedroom and stand by the window.

My parents had mounted one of those pickup gun racks to the wall above their bed, which was out of reach when we were kids. Perve told her to start disrobing. When he told her to take off all her jewelry she replied “I can’t”. He ordered her to do it or else (she wasn’t wearing any) and she said “I can’t”. At that point she knew he wasn’t really watching her and decided to have some fun.

Enraged, he threatened her again, and ordered her to completely strip.

“I can’t do that because I’D HAVE TO PUT DOWN THE SHOT GUN!” (cue signature shotgun priming noise). She had it in her hands as soon as she entered the bedroom, just in case the perv really was watching. Didn’t have any ammo for it, but he didn’t know that!

    He hung up.

  12. Mark Early

I don’t place any blame on the employee in the McDonald’s incident. I think she should be able to sue the pants off everybody involved. That includes the manager, her boyfriend and everybody else that took part.

  13. frippy

Unfortunately, girls who swallow that cant about being “nice” and obeying authority and equate sticking up for themselves with being unfeminine (horrors!) grow up to become women like the victim in the McDonald’s strip search story. This is not to say she “deserved” her torment, but to explain why she didn’t scream or protest or deliver the much deserved smackfest. You don’t become the best employee (or even an assistant manger) at McDonald’s by having a highly-developed sense of autonomy or a healthy mistrust of authority.

In a truly just world, the victim would be able to sue every adult figure in her life who encouraged her to be meek and spineless and silently submit to this sort of humiliation because that’s what good girls do.

  14. Sylvanite

The girl at McDonald’s was probably terrified of being fired, especially since she’s trying to help support her family. She’s too young to have much perspective. That manager was a moron, and the girl is completely within her rights to sue the pants off everyone involved.

  15. Hattie

I suspect collusion, too, that the abusers were in cahoots with the phone caller. But I guess that’s ’cause I hung around a lot with incarcerated sex abusers once, in an official capacity, of course.
Poor little thing. I feel so sorry for her, but I don’t think she was a dope or naive. I think she was afraid they’d kill her.

A vibrator that can be controlled by a Bluetooth phone in possession of a third party

wait a minute, who’s the second party? Is this some kind of orgy or something?

  17. K

The manager’s ex-fiance is one sick motherfucker. Did anyone else see the video? At one point he had the girl on his lap, naked, cradling her with one arm. Fucking bastard. I’d like to sodomize HIM with a rusty knife.

  18. LMYC

… a lot of people live in sufficient fear of the police that they’ll do whatever a policeman tells them even if they have misgivings.

I think it’s more likely that a lot of people live with the desire to do vicious and cruel things to someone they resent for whatever reason, and will leap at ANYTHING that looks like a plausible excuse to do it. “It wasn’t MY fault, your Honor, the person on the phone TOLD me it was okay!”
