Porn For Jesus

Ever wonder why there isn’t much Biblical T&A around? So did these German kids, who put together a dirty calendar featuring 12 erotic scenes from the perennial bestseller, to be sold in a Nuremberg church.

“It’s just wonderful when teenagers commit themselves with their hair and their skin to the bible.”

With all the Bush-loving Repugnican fundies doing massive amounts of hateful and prejudicial judging–not to mention murder–in the name of the Baby Jesus, it’s mildly surprising that they haven’t researched Porn For Jesus before now. Oh…wait. I forgot…they hate sex. Unless it’s between one white man and one white woman. In the dark. Under the covers. Never totally naked. And feeling guilty about it the whole time.

According to the church’s site “None of the depicted models is under 16 years old [and] young people under 18 had to obtain permission from their parents. […] Models appeared without duress […] and all were able to withdraw from the project at any time.” (more or less)

Huh. Not sure what to make of that.

oooh, do they have the one where the lamb lies down with the lion? That’s, like, patriarchal symbolism in jokers!

Under a Patriarchy, nothing is sacred, or safe from sexualization. For the rape loving masses, the Bible is full of titillation and hot action, especially if not exclusively that Old Testament part. They haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of sexual deviance therein. For that I am grateful.

I just had to reply to my own comment to see what would happen.

Oh, cool. It’s in a box in a box now. Excuse my playing around, Twisty!

how small can these boxes get?
(sorry for goofing, also, but it’s been a long week and once I have swerved to avoid the approaching work-induced nervous breakdown I will return to commenting in a weightier and more proper manner…)

Five levels of boxiness is my limit.

I suppose something like this was inevitable, though I thought it would be coming from some American Christian group. I mean, Christian marketing and crossover products are big business these days. There are Christian gyms, Christian action movies, Christian rock bands and rap groups, Christian romance novels, and so I suppose Christian pornography was inevitable.

    Christian gyms?!?

Um, did anyone else notice that all the nudity that got mentioned was on the part of the females? Deliah was “bare-breasted,” but was any part of Sampson unclothed besides his pate? Eve was “nude,” but either Adam wasn’t, or Reuters considers male nudity to be so uncontroversial as to be beneath mention. So, I figure we’re left with a couple of unsavory choices: either Reuters decided that their best angle was to play up the visual objectification of women while ignoring that of men, or the youth group leader decided that “erotic” = female, and thus let the 16 year-old girls shoulder the burden of representing sexuality, while allowing the male peers to remain safely subjectified. Either way, ick.

A whole lot of naked and bare breasted women, but no naked men, as that would be wrong and lead to ungodliness.

I did bible studies as a youngster, but I must have missed the bit with the woman in “stockings and suspenders”.

Porn, ick; organized religion, ick; USING young teenagers to support organized religion with porn, double ick!!! Shouldn’t they be excommed for sporting about in the altogether??? I mean, clearly organized religions are against anyone having fun, unless, that is, it’s sanctioned by their particular religion. Oh. I see, the Lutherans sanction porn . . . especially 16 year old teen porn . . . ICK!
