Though this thread is pretty much dead, I have to voice my agreement about the general shit of new aginess. At least Catholics admit that life can be pretty shitty. I mean, at least Jesus turned a few tables over in the temple. The new agers will tell you to just happy-think the exploiters out of existence.
I work at a health food store, and I'm amazed at how many people can act like the Pope is the devil and then spend a weekend and several hundred dollars to listen to the Dalai Lama speak. It makes me seriously wonder if they've actually read any of his books or even know what "Free Tibet" entails.

Crows are not sinister.

Crucified-Jew-eatin', zombie-cannibal-worshippin', altar-boy-diddlin' guys in bad gowns (celibate! holy!) are sinister.

And what is "sinister" but left-handed? We'd say instead evil, or vicious, or psychosexually immature, or uberpower-humpin', or fullblown batguano insane are all better adjectives for Herr Inquisatore Nazinger.

There is a tendency on your blog for you to view other than human species with the same contempt, projection, mythologization, and utility-based thinking that men turn on women.

This is no accident, it is the roots of patriarchy. The gulf humans fabricated between "humans" and "nature" is the real "fall from Eden." It started long before the agricultures, but was codified and explicated by them, since controlling sexual reproduction has huge profit possibilities. If you can devolve into a slavemaster and spend your life exploiting beings allowed no resistance.

And then just as agriculture was arising gender was made bipolar and turned into a prison. The old Mesopotamian sickness, though humans had already been slaughtering and extincting large mammals (and who knows who else) for hundreds of thousands of years, if you believe the evidence of paleozoologists, and we do.

The crow on the roof has nothing to do with the Pope. Or his rank, stinky, projected "evil." If you want to blame patriarchs, great. we're with you. But when you start turning into one, by making fun of "animals," by hinting at their sinfulness, by laughing at their imprisonment, by making them the butt of jokes or negative metaphors, then we get off the bus.

I guess like mother country like daughter country. The U.S. does not have separation of church & state either. (In spite of the so called laws which proclaim we do.)

****************************************************

Has it occurred to anyone that Judaism, Islam & Christianity all share child abuse as the foundation of their religions?

1)Abraham is (depending on interpretation) *tested* by the narcissistic rage-filled bigoted misogynistic god to sacrifice his son, Isaac as proof of his deep devotion. Isaac gets lucky when a sheep or ram becomes stuck in briar & god (I guess he was having a good day) tells Abraham he didn't really want him to kill Isaac after all. But since there's a tastey tangled ram close by he suggests to kill that animal as an act of loyalty & obedience to him instead.

2)Abraham mistreats & banishes his other son, Ishmael, (I cannot recall exactly why except that maybe it had something to do with his mother being Hagar & not Sarah?) but it is child abuse none the less. Ishamael goes on to become a prophet in Islam.

3)Jesus Christ, god's (the same narcissistic rage-filled bigoted misogynistic OT god) only begotten superstar son, is physically sacrificed. It's like the bloodlust for his son's blood was a desire that had to eventually be fulfilled.

Jewish men were writing these stories. There is a theory that Genesis & a few other books of the Pentateuch were written by a woman of privilege in the Davidic court. (See 'Book of J' by Harold Bloom - yeah I know he's a big big asshole but it's the only scholarly book I've ever read cogently suggesting a female authored biblical stories.)

I understand these are all myths (unless someone here can offer me scientific proof of the existence of these stories & historical personages as having really existed) but some how along he way (yeah I know IBTP too) these myths became accepted as historical fact & blindly trusted as guide books for how to live one's life.

Intrinsic to the sacrificial god myth is the magical idea that he will be resurrected & return more powerful. As if to mitigate the abuse; to gloss over the reality of the brutality these stories not only illustrate as fantasy - but cultivate & encourage to be re-enacted in reality when they are sold as "religion".

Similarly in new-age metaphysical circles it is commonly taught & wholly accepted that the abused & exploited child, woman, person is complicit. That in fact there are no victims because the so called "victim" has (before incarnating on the earth plane) agreed to "play" the victim. Due to our "limited human perspective" we cannot question the whys of these dynamics. People buy this new age bull-shit hook, line & sinker - just as passionately & irrationally as those accepting Jewish, Christian, Islamic etc.....doctrine.

This is why I say that ALL religions & faiths, regardless if they are "organized" or not, are dangerous & anti-female.

I don't believe this is ridiculing anyone. Instead it is pointing out the fundamental flaws in putting one's trust, faith, belief in any organization or philosophy outside the self.

You don't need to follow anyone. If you feel the need to follow another I think a good thing to ask is why you prefer to relinquish personal power to someone other than yourself?
