None of them is a necessary or sufficient condition for womanhood. There are XX women who lack some or all of them, & it’s not at all clear that there’s some residue of XX somatic experience distinct from the whole lot of them. If there are overlapping statistical differences between men’s & women’s brains, what share of them are attributable to XX-XY differences? What to make of the overlap? “Woman,” as currently used, already is a family resemblance concept. What share of the total difference between men’s & women’s experience is directly due to XX-XY differences, & what share is due to the social environment that reacts upon those differences? What share of the differences between men’s & women’s experience that feminists deem morally or political significant consists of the experience of XX-XY differences?
