Finally getting around to reading the archives, and shit.
Just reading this damned blog is far better than any "gender studies" class I took in college.

Heart,

Yup. And with "lesbians" as the eager handmaidens.

Bitterness.

This is why I no longer consider myself a "lesbian" separatist, just a separatist.

performance by Bitch, another lesbian musician, at a local DYKE march, was just CANCELLED, and why? Because she regularly plays at Michfest.

I mean, when a LESBIAN can't perform at a Dyke march because male-born people are pissed because she plays at Michfest? That is male supremacy happening right there. That is patriarchy, right there.

KH-- what you are writing here is irrelevant to us, as women, as females, as that category of human beings oppressed under male supremacy.

Those are your issues and your concerns-- not ours. They don't have anything to do with us. Your comments here are particularly troublesome, in that it's clear you're not bothering to engage what women here are saying to you. You are basically trolling this thread, something you've done before, elsewhere.

kiki, Louisa, you are welcome, and thanks.

I don't have the faintest idea what Mar Iguana is blithering about, but someone tells me she's implying that I'm an MTF transsexual or transvestite boy. For the record, no, I'm neither. But thanks for the thought.

One thing that these folks have never satisfactorily been able to answer me is this:

What kind of (presumably human) being *wouldn't* be able to claim to be a woman?

Please answer in less than 4 paragraphs. I'm old and tired.

HAAAAA HA HA HA HA. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. HEH. Ahhh (while pointing this time). You boys are a laugh riot. Peddle your piddle "in the wider, hugely transsexual-friendly world." Radical feminism sees your slip showing. And, a lovely slip it is. Victoria's Secret?

There is an experience that is female, justicewalks, one that many of those born into female bodies can never know. So what is the irreducible experience that is female that all & only women know? Analyze it into its parts. It’s not having children, or a uterus, or breasts, or vaginal mucosa, or female elbows, or female legs, or female brains, or any of other specific traits actually or allegedly associated with distinctively female somatic sense. None of them is a necessary or sufficient condition for womanhood. There are XX women who lack some or all of them, & it’s not at all clear that there’s some residue of XX somatic experience distinct from the whole lot of them. If there are overlapping statistical differences between men’s & women’s brains, what share of them are attributable to XX-XY differences? What to make of the overlap? “Woman,” as currently used, already is a family resemblance concept. What share of the total difference between men’s & women’s experience is directly due to XX-XY differences, & what share is due to the social environment that reacts upon those differences? What share of the differences between men’s & women’s experience that feminists deem morally or political significant consists of the experience of XX-XY differences? I won’t repeat myself any further on this point.

Patriarchal oppression predates knowledge of karotypes, & has no need of it. When the agents of patriarchal oppression don’t know an MTF’s karotype – as is the case when they’re tricked into accepting them, as you put it – they don’t distinguish her from other, Total Women. She’s oppressed as a woman in exactly the same way as other women, whether or not someone other than the oppressor deigns to call her one.
